School students, parents and teachers gather in front of Venezia’s central train station to call for the immediate re-opening of schools, which have recently been once again closed across most of Italy in a misguided response to an alarming rise in newly detected cases of Coronavirus.
With most of the country’s response to the pandemic pretty much where it was twelve months ago, pointlessly closing down schools remains a cheap trick to score some quick political capital, especially for local politicians with a “tough guy” reputation, and we have quite a few of those down here in Italy.
